Verify your identity

A photo of your ID and a short camera check. Needed for card payments — takes about two minutes.

Card top-ups open once we know there is a real person behind the account. You show us an ID document and do a short check with your camera; in most cases the answer comes straight away.

What you need

  • A passport, ID card, driving licence or residence permit — the original, not a copy.
  • A camera: the one in your laptop, or your phone.
  • Good light, and about two minutes.

Start the check

  1. Sign in at did.pyfone.com and open Account → Profile.
  2. In the Identity check row, press Verify identity.

Step 1 — the document

If a passport or ID card is already in your account’s Documents, it is offered first — pick it and you do not need to upload it again. Otherwise choose the document type and photograph the page with your photo:

  • the whole document in the frame, flat;
  • no glare and no fingers over the photo.

For an ID card, photograph the back as well — the lines with <<< there are what we check the document by.

Step 2 — the camera

Keep your face inside the oval and follow the prompts. You get three random actions out of four: blink, turn your head left, turn your head right, smile. The bar under the picture shows how far you are.

No camera on this computer? Press Continue on the phone. A QR code appears — point your phone’s camera at it and do the check there. The code works for 15 minutes and only for this check; the computer shows the result by itself.

Step 3 — the result

You seeWhat it means
Identity verifiedDone. Card payments are open.
Sent to staff for reviewThe photo was hard to compare, the document has expired, or the name differs from your profile. A person will look at it, usually the same working day.
Check not passedThe face did not match the document. Try again with your own document in better light.

You can try up to five times a day.

Paying for a company

When the account pays as a company, the person paying must also be confirmed as acting for it:

  1. In Account → Profile, under the company, find Who acts for the company.
  2. Press I act for this company and choose your role: director, owner, or authorised by power of attorney.
  3. Pick the company’s registration document already in the account, or upload a registry extract or power of attorney that names you.

If the registration document names you, this is confirmed automatically. Otherwise staff check it.

Your data

The photos and the comparison stay on our own servers — nothing is sent to outside services. Staff see them only to decide a doubtful check.
